Artist Statement
My work evolves from lifelong immersion in the outdoors and my deep sense of humanity's emergence from the world of nature. Outdoor installations frequently involve transitions of materials, forms and colors from their innate forms to architecturally shaped ones. Conversely, their gradual reversion, decomposition and natural recycling are an integral part of their existence. (Indoor objects just take longer.) Life itself is a glorious passage from dust to dust.
